2005 Hurricane Season is upon us.

All text entered into this page is controlled by the <body> tag. The tag has been redefined to set the following attributes:

The font is defined as "Trebuchet MS", Arial, Sans-serif This means the Trebuchet font will be a browser's primary font choice. If Trebuchet is not installed the browser will display Arial or a sans-serif font

The link, visited link and mouse-over link color are also defined to be in keeping with the Theme colors of this page.

This paragraph is indented using the Text Indent button. Indents will not add space above or below the paragraph.

This text is in the style called Heading 2.

The styles have been defined so things act as you'd expect, in a predictable, word-processor like manner. I can press return and it just moves to the next line

and doesn't create an uncontrollable space above or below. If I want to start a new paragraph then I press Return twice, just like a word processor without having to know or use soft returns (Shift-Return)

Who is GCIS and why are you doing this?
GCIS- Gulf Coast Information Systems, is a Gulf Coast owned and operated IT company. We host, create, maintain websites, and provide server administration and security. We are not affiliated with any official Civil Defense, Government Agency, or National Weather Resource.  We are long time coastal residents who have dealt first hand with Tropical Storms and Hurricanes and know the importance of preparedness, information and communication.   We have the resources to provide this information to our community and the world, and gather it from varies reliable resources. We strive to support our community, through our individual city sites. During Hurricane IVAN, September 2004, we started an update page on one of our smaller city sites, www.govancleave.com, this page became so heavily visited and remains a resource for many. With that as an inspiration we have created this site. The GCIS Hurricane Information Resource Center, in an attempt to put all tips, resources, and information in one site, with an added touch. a communications center, where we urge our residents to post updates as they can and communicate with their friends and family thru posts letting everyone know their status and locations. So send in your comments, photos and suggestions.
